Well, I am a busy bee right now.
There are so many changes and transformations occurring in my life right now. The more I venture out of my comfort zone, the more courageous and confident I feel.
So here goes…
I have always loved writing, be it stories, poems or musical compositions, since I was a young girl.
And a few months ago, I finally acknowledged to myself that I have always wanted to be a writer.
It’s a pity I wasted a decade in self-denial and trying to play it safe, but I know I can’t change the past.
I have stopped being a turtle (as my sister says) and have started to emerge from my shell, which feels scary (I’m not going to lie to you!) yet also exhilarating at the same time.
Interestingly, although I am a huge fan of Personal Development and have learnt a lot from conventional means, I have learnt so much about personal development from fiction stories – getting lost in books, watching characters grow and overcoming adversity.
Like Frodo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings.
Like Tris in the Divergent Series.
Like Arya Stark and Jon Snow in the Game of Thrones Saga.
Their experiences inspire, resonate within me and give me comfort.
I wanted (and still want!) to write about Personal Development, yet I have always yearned to express myself creatively and I wasn’t sure how I could possibly marry the two. If you have read any other of my blog posts, such as ‘Escaping the Hidey Hole’ or Monday’s ‘Riding Through Storms’, you will realise that I don’t write like most personal development bloggers.
Which made me a little anxious.
And after weeks of grappling with this issue, I have decided
I have a creative-writing style. Humans are not clones and we should celebrate those features and characteristics that make us different.
So I’m being brave and trying an experiment.
On the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month, I shall host STORY CORNER. I will write stories and poems centred on a personal development issue, which should (fingers crossed!) hopefully provoke discussion on the blog.
Now, I realise that not all of you have a gmail account in order to post comments in blogger.
This will become a lot easier once…
my new website is launched (details coming soon)!!
For now, you can always leave comments on one of my social media pages.
Looking forward to the 18th May!
